Welcome to the Cabinet for Workforce Development's Labor Market Information Survey Home Page. We are pleased to present new and previously unavailable labor market indicators for Kentucky that will assist your communities in attracting industry and focusing workforce training needs.  Through a number of forums, the need for enhanced workforce data was identified as a critical planning component for business, economic development professionals and individuals.

Therefore, a collaborative partnership between the Cabinet for Workforce Development and the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board was established that brought researchers from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville to fill these needs.  By conducting a two-pronged survey in 2002 that examined household and employer data, researchers blended this information with US Census and other official data to produce meaningful results at both a a state and local level.  As you navigate through this website, we would also encourage you to read the report to better understand research methodologies and discover additional survey characteristics.
